The slow bend test unit is rated at 280T and designed to test Container Welders (or Aluminothermic) welded rails. Its primary purpose is to press down the welded joint at a specific load rate. This process will continue until it reaches maximum deflection and load criteria, the emergency stop button is pressed, or the rail breaks. The machine consists of a heavy-duty fabrication with access doors at each end and set-up ports on each side. A hydraulic pump unit is mounted on top of the unit, feeding the loading ram.
